Victory #19 came to the Alliance Navy squad on Wednesday with a 13 to 2 win over Hot Springs. The Spartans plated nine runs in the first inning and improved to 19-21-2 for the year. Pitcher Jackson Devlin went the distance for the Peltz Co, striking out 4 in the four inning contest. At the dish, Alliance finished with 7 hits and were led by Tanner Salcido and Teagan O’Gorman who had 2 apiece. The game was played in Alliance and was the first contest of a doubleheader.
Post 71 struck first with 2 runs in the top of the first. Devlin had 2 strikeouts in the frame. The Peltz Co then grabbed the lead with 9 scores in the home half. Casyn Rodriguez began the rally with a walk and advanced after a single by O’Gorman. The Spartans first 2 runs came on a triple by Salcido. A passed ball then put the Navy team up by 1. Alliance then loaded the bases after a walk to Miguel Galvan, a hit by pitch to Reese Muhr, and an error by Hot Springs.
Eban Lore was next and his sacrifice fly made it a 4 to 2 battle. The Spartans next tally came after a single by Kyler Hamel and a 2 run hit by Rodriguez. Up 6 to 2, Alliance got a walk from O’Gorman and a 2 RBI double by Salcido. Two more Post 71 passed balls ended the inning with the Peltz Co taking a 9 to 2 lead.
Hot Springs threatened in the top of the second but a strikeout by Devlin and a Spartan double play foiled the rally. Alliance also failed to score in the inning. Inning 3 had no runs for the guests with Devlin getting another k. Four more scores by the Peltz Co in the bottom of the third put the contest away. RBI knocks by O’Gorman and Logan Freiberger gave the Navy club an 11 run lead. Devlin had a scoreless frame in the top of the fourth. Final Alliance 13 Hot Springs 2
