Dominic Phillip Dawn, 27, passed away January 1, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He was born in Omaha, NE on September 2, 1993. He was raised by his grandparents, whom he considered his parents, James and Lela Schmidt. Dominic served in the U.S. Army for 4 years and was working in the construction business.
On January 10, 2014 he was united in marriage to Elena O. Reza. He is survived by his wife, Elena, his children, Karlie, Camden and Elissa, , his mother, Lela Schmidt of Lincoln, NE, his sisters, Elainna Robles, Athena Schmidt, Mimi Robles, Maggie Perez, Carlina Garcia, Christy Schmidt and Sharon Miranda, his brothers, Brendan Little Hoop, Timothy Schmidt, Anthony Schmidt, Leland Schmidt and Christian Schmidt. He is also survived by his great-grandfather, Moses Dawn of Alliance, other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Shane Dawn, his dad, James Schmidt, his great-grandmother, Henrietta Dawn and his uncle, Timothy Schmidt.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Indian Mission Church of God with Reverend Don Mink and Sister Linda Abold officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
