Douglas Lee “Doug” Taylor of Lincoln, formerly of Alliance Nebraska, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska following a short illness.
Doug was born in Alliance, Nebraska on September 25, 1962 to Richard and Francis Henrietta “Etta” (Jones) Taylor. He attended school in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School in 1981. He married Pam Groce and to this union four children were born. Doug worked at Electric Hose and Rubber, Dayco and then Parker for 35 years. He married Karolyn Heinemann of Scottsbluff, Nebraska on April 25, 1998 and they enjoyed 27 years of marriage.
Doug enjoyed deer hunting with Karolyn and his sons and friends. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing (Dale Earnhardt Sr. was his favorite), races at the area racetracks and spending time with friends and family. He mostly enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Karolyn, and his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Karolyn of Lincoln; his children Shaun (Kristina) Taylor of Lincoln NE, Levi (Kelly) Taylor of Elgin ND, Cody (Kaitlyn) Taylor of Gering NE, and Brianna Taylor of Alliance NE; his grandchildren Gabby, Daceson, Savannah, Dustin, Janessa, Rylan, Jameson, Braxton, Audrey, Kayson, Paisley and Raylan. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn (Jim) Steggall of Alliance NE and nephews Jay and Matthew both of Alliance, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents.
