Are you comfortable in your own skin? An old counselor friend of mine use to like saying that. Kind of a catchy interesting phrase. Maybe some of us are and maybe some of us are not? I reckon a lot of the trouble we have in life with others could be due the fact that someone is not comfortable in their own skin? I don’t think it is no easy task.
It sounds like it is something that we need to go out and tackle ourselves. I think even maybe some who would say they are and feel comfortable, can they maintain it? Are they denying something? Are they blinded? I think it takes God to make us comfortable in our own skin and even then I don’t think we always remain there. We might have a weakness that bugs us, maybe some old unpleasant memories, maybe a dislike of our own body, maybe an old resentment that just won’t break loose?
Maybe being comfortable in our own skin comes when we are being still and knowing that God is God. A Christian can be very grateful that God knows what we need and He always delivers to us what we need.
I may not always be comfortable in my own skin but I believe in the end that I will be all because of Him and His Word. Thanks be to God that He loves us weak and needy and helpless sinners!
