First Place Finishers for Bobcats at Kimball Were: Miller, Moseman, Horstman, and Haas

On Thursday, the Hemingford junior high track teams hit the road for a meet in Kimball. Nine schools took part in the event. The Bobcats had another solid showing. Hemingford finished fifth on the boy’s side with 62 points while the Lady Cats had 34 points which was good for 8th. Both squads brought home 2 gold medals each. Seventh graders Emerson Horstman and Kamryn Haas were first place finishers in the girl’s 100 and 200 hurdles events. For the boys, the Cats got a first place effort by Andrew Miller in the 800 and a gold medal performance from Fletcher Moseman in the mile. Mitchell captured first in both the boys and girl’s team race. The Tigers netted 104 points in winning the boy’s division with Bayard second with 99 points. With 112 points, the Mitchell girls were first with Pine Bluffs second with 85 points.

“JH T&F had another opportunity to compete. We had many exciting performances and some major PRs in some areas. It has been fun to see the athletes grow from the work they are putting in at practice,” said Coach Joshua Dean.

On Tuesday, the Best of the West meet will be held in Scottsbluff for the area’s top performers while the next meet for all the Cats were be Friday in Morrill at the Panhandle Conference gathering.
