Mitchell High School hosted the Class C district 9 track meet on Thursday. Hemingford, along with 8 other schools, took part in the event. The Bobcats had 2 district champs in Dakota Horstman who won the girls mile and Michael Helmink who won the boys discus. Also heading to state for the Lady Cats is Ainslee Woltman who was second in the 2 mile. As for the boys, Hemingford had 2 others who will participate at state as additional qualifiers. Austin Benda was fourth in the 2 mile with a time of 10:22 and will run in Omaha. Senior Boady Hunter was fifth in the 800 but his time of 2:04 was good enough for a trip to state. Valentine was the team winner for the girls with 105 points with Perkins County taking second with 81 points. Hemingford tallied 44 points which was good for 7th. Perkins County won on the boy’s side with 113 points while North Platte St. Pats was the runner up with 110 points. Hemingford finished in 6th place overall with 42 points.

Five competitors punched their ticket to Omaha Burke Stadium for the State T&F Meet next week. -Lucas Sulzbach now #8 in the Triple Jump, passing Wyatt Stricker, Ethan Skinner, Cody Laursen.
-Ainslee Woltman now #8 in the 3200m, passing Kaelia Nelson.
-Boady Hunter now #4 in the 800m, passing Austin Benda.
The Nebraska Class C state track meet will be in Omaha on Friday and Saturday May 23 and 24.
