Five veterans were honored and wrapped with Quilts of Valor in a ceremony Thurs, November 27, 2024 at the VFW club lead by Kathy Dye of Panhandle Blocks, the local chapter of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The American Legion Post #7 and American Legion Riders Panhandle Chapter # 43 also assisted.
The five veterans include:
-Quinton Fancher USMC – his quilt was made by Cindy Zurn and quilted by Jodi Meer.
-Sean Sward US Navy – his quilt was made by Cindy Zurn and quilted by Christy Anderson.
-Justin Allison US Army – his quilt was made by Margaret Leinemann and quilted by Suzanne Walker.
-Ethan Zapata USMC – his quilt was made by Virginia Campbell and quilted by Linda Schneider.
-Nicholas Myers US Army – his quilt was made by by Donna Lemke, quilted by Steve Sward, bound by Lynne Sward and Margaret Leinemann.
A nice crowd of friends, family members and Panhandle Block members were in attendance.
