A strong starting pitching performance by Braeden Clarke plus 3 hits by Creighton Fritzler enable the Alliance White club to get past Cheyenne 10 to 2 in legion baseball action played in Wyoming on Sunday. With the win, the Spartans improve to 2 and 1 on the year. Clarke went 5 innings and struck out 5 in getting the victory. At the plate, Alliance collected 8 hits. Creighton Frtizler continued his big year, getting 3 hits. Adding 2 was Jaxson Esparza. Alliance put the contest away with 5 insurance tallies in their last at bat.
Three Alliance walk plus 2 hits helped Alliance get on the board first. Leadoff hitter Jaxon Poss started the rally with a single. Two walks later, Poss scored on an RBI walk from Carver Nemnick. Fritzler ended the inning with a hit as the Peltz Co. took a 1 to 0 lead. The Post 6 Hawks came back to tie the ball game with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame. Cheyenne used a pair of singles to knot the game at 1 after one inning of action. Three huge Alliance runs in the second gave the Spartans some breathing room. Clarke helped his cause with a leadoff single and advance following a walk by Poss. Spartan Jackson Smith then reach after a hit by batter. Pinch runner Tanner Salcido then stole home that made the score 2 to 1. An RBI groundout by Carson Stull put Alliance up by 2. After he was walked, Kobe Strom gave Alliance a third with when the Spartan stole home. Cheyenne went scoreless in their turn in the second.
Alliance added to their lead in the top of inning #3. A single by Esparza was followed by an RBI double by Fritzler to help the Peltz Co go up 5 to 1. The Hawks came back with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning and after 3 innings of action, Alliance led 5 to 2. Neither team would score in innings 4-5 and 6. Alliance would get a double by Esparza in the top of the fifth but he was stranded on the bases. In the seventh, the Spartans put the contest away with 5 runs. Three walks loaded the bags for Fritzler who responded with a 2 run double. A wild pitch by the hosts ensued and the inning went on with an RBI double by Tony Escamilla. Alliance’s scoring closed with Escamilla stealing home that put the Peltz Co ahead 10 to 2 heading to the final inning. With Escamilla on the mound, Cheyenne went quietly in the seventh as the White squad went on for the 10 to 2 win.
