Several area veterans will be recognized for their service during an upcoming Honor Flight for veterans of the Korean, Vietnam and Desert Storm, and people are invited to show their gratitude for their service by taking part in a flagline near Terry’s Corner in Alliance along Highway 385 on Sept. 7.
The stage time is set for 10:20 a.m., with a flagline meeting expected to take place at 10:30 a.m. The flagline formation will take place at 10:40 a.m., with the escort procession expected to travel through Alliance at approximately 11 a.m. Flags will be provided.
The escort will depart from the Chadron American Legion Post #12, located at 123 Bordeaux Street in Chadron, at approximately 10 a.m. It is composed of approximately five vans carrying veterans, who will be escorted by Law Enforcement and Patriot Guard Riders. The escort is scheduled to arrive in Scottsbluff at noon, where they will stop for lunch at the Elks Lodge, located at 1614 1st Ave, in Scottsbluff.
The escort will depart from Scottsbluff at 1 p.m., and travel south toward Kimball and Fort Morgan, Colo. From there, they will travel to their lodging destination near the Denver International Airport.

Carl Cousin, of Chadron, who served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm.
Gene Peters, of Chadron, who served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
Clayton “JR” Barker, of Crawford, who served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam.
Dennis Brott, of Crawford, who served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
