Memorial Services for Florence “Ellen” Ireland will be held March 1, 2023 at Chamberlain Chapel at 10 AM. Aaron Sprock will be officiating the service. Burial will be at a later date at Redington Cemetery in Morrill County.
Ellen was born on February 5, 1938 in Scottsbluff NE to Forest and Edna Ireland. She had two siblings William and Maurice. Ellen lived in the Scottsbluff area until age of 11 when she moved to the Beatrice State Home. On June 19, 1975, Ellen moved to Alliance, NE to participate in Area I (OMR) services. Ellen lived in her own apartment and worked at Hardees. While employed at Hardees she prepared salads. On 7/1/2002 Ellen moved to a Group Home in Alliance where she enjoyed the companionship of her housemates. Ellen made many friends in Alliance over the years.
Ellen moved to the Hay Springs in December of 2019 where she lived until entering the Pioneer Nursing Home in Hay Springs on 1/26/2023 until her death on February 15, 2023.
Ellen’s immediate family is deceased. To all those who are blessed to call Ellen their friend they will have memories of a sweet and sassy lady who hated chicken but loved coloring, shopping, going on adventures, hot dogs, pizza and hamburgers. She liked nothing better than going on coffee dates or getting her nails done. Ellie to some people, remembered all her loved ones and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. Ellie will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
