Francis E. Hamilton, age 80, formerly of Sidney, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, in Tyler, TX. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family will greet guests at the church on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 5-6:00 P.M. The Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney with Father C.P. Varghese and Father Mike McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.
Memorials may be made in care of the family for later designation.

Francis was born December 20, 1942 in Clarksville, TN. He attended St. Agnes Academy in Alliance, NE and went directly into the U.S. Army for 3 years.
His home-base was Hawaii with overseas duty in Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. He met Janice Lambert in 1962 while on military leave. They married December 26, 1964 in Sidney, NE. Francis was employed at Western Electric in Omaha/Denver, Hamilton’s Outdoor Sports and Coors Brewing.
Blessed with two daughters Sandy and Dee. Francis is survived by wife Janice, his sister Margie Meyer of Sidney, NE, children Sandy (Dave) McDonald of Strasburg, CO. and Dee (Gary) Maiers of Lindale, TX. His grandkids Krystle and Gary Foster of Tyler, TX, Nathan and Jessica McDonald of Strasburg, CO, Shawn and Danielle McDonald of Strasburg, CO, Miranda Maiers of Lindale, TX, Jordan and Kyle Cisneros of Ft. Lupton, CO, Daniel Maiers of Lindale, TX and nine great-grandkids with one more coming next month. As well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elden and Margaret Hamilton and sister Julia Anciaux.
