Frank M. Tyler “Bud” Obituary

Frank M. Tyler “Bud” was born July 16th of 1928 to Walter and Mary C. (Hooley) Tyler. He had one older brother named Walt.

Bud was born and raised on a family ranch in the sand hills of western Nebraska, south of Lakeside.

Bud worked on several different ranches growing up. The one he talked about the most was the Keyline

Ranch in Wyoming.

Bud enlisted in the Army in November of 1950 and completed his basic training at Fort Riley Kansas and then Ranger training near Mt Fuji Japan. He earned the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star and the United Nations Service Medal Combat Infantryman Badge and The Purple Heart with 2 clusters.  In August 1952, he was transferred to the Enlisted Reserve Corp where he completed his service in August 1956, retiring as a sergeant.

He then worked for Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas Company after his military service, for about 24 years.

Bud married Leta Dentler in 1953 and to this union was born seven children; Tim, Brad, Tina, Kirtis, Trent, Forrest and Trisha.

Bud remarried in 1982 to Lucille Lyons. They celebrated their 40th anniversary together this year on June 10th. Lucille has two sons, Lee and Trev Rybacki.

Bud ran his own plumbing business and after marrying Lucille, helped Lucille raise Arabian horses for Rush Creek Ranch in Nebraska. Bud and Lucille moved to Franklin, NE in 2005 and made their home at 1008 18th Ave. Many people knew Bud and always recognized him driving his shiny red mobility scooter. He enjoyed driving his scooter on errands around town.

Bud fed birds, took care of cats, loved to mow his grass, loved his life with Lucille, and always loved his family. Though his children are scattered all over the country, they have all kept in touch. There has always been an awesome feeling of love that flowed back and forth between them.

The Tyler family has grown much over the years, including 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bud also has 2 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

Bud passed away Sunday, June 19th, 2022. Cremation services were selected. He will be laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeside, Nebraska. Family and friends of Frank may sign his register book Tuesday, July 5th through Friday July 8th during normal business hours at Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska who is assisting the Tyler family with these arrangements.
