The Alliance Lady Bulldogs invaded Gering Friday night for a rematch of a previous 77-42 conference tournament loss. The Bulldogs would jump out to a first quarter 11-6 lead behind solid defense. The strong defensive effort continued in the second quarter until they gave a late six points to let Gering cut into the lead. Alliance would maintain an 18-17 halftime edge.
Alliance would let Gering set the pace of play in the third quarter dropping the frame 26-6. The Alliance squad would regroup and play a solid fourth quarter but still losing the contest 55-35.
Jordan Hopp would lead Alliance nearly pulling off a double-double and a 1.83 VPS rating. She would share high point honors with sophomore, Shelbee Burke at 9 points each. Shelbee would also score highly on the VPS with a 1.70. Jordan would lead the team in rebounds with 11. Another sophomore, Angie Davis would contribute 8 points and senior, Payton Weber, who was hampered by foul trouble would add 9 rebounds to the cause.
The Bulldogs would shoot 56% from the foul line and 32% from inside the arc. The Bulldogs were unable to connect from 3-point land going 0 for 6. The Bulldogs fall to 0-16 on the season with 3 highly rated teams next up on the schedule.
