My name is Brenda Bishop. I grew up in Denver, Colorado. I am the youngest of 4 siblings and the only girl. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, which I attended on a track scholarship. In 1980, I was invited to the National Track and Field Championships and the Olympic Trials. However, due to the Olympic boycott at the time, no one from the US was able to attend the Olympics.
I moved to Alliance in 1992, after the company I worked for closed their Colorado locations. I was promoted to the role of Supervisor at the Woolrich facility in Alliance. After closing the plant in Alliance, I found a niche at the Alliance Police Department and became a dispatcher. I worked for 10 years dispatching, then moved on to try other careers. After a 14-year hiatus I returned to dispatching. Helping and caring about our community gets in your blood. To Serve and Protect.
I also enjoy gardening, baking, canning and spending time with my husband watching Husker sports. GO BIG RED!
