Gillette Rides Away with a 13 to 2 Win over Seniors

Gillette used a big third inning to race past the Alliance Seniors 13 to 2 in a game played on Sunday. With the loss, the Spartans now have a 21 and 9 record for the season. The hosts plated 8 tallies in the bottom of the third and cruised to the victory. Alliance was held to just 4 hits in the five inning affair. Four Spartans took the mound with starter Nason Thompson going 1 plus frames. Relieving Thompson were: EJ Garcia, Kobe Strom, and Tanner Salcido.

Alliance went to the dish first and failed to score. In the bottom of the frame, the Riders used a pair of singles to go up 2 to 0. The Peltz Co countered with a 2 spot in the second to tie the contest at 2. Hits came from Cody Galles, Mikey Johnson, and Tony Escamilla to make it a 2 to 2 battle. Gillette then surged ahead with 3 in the home half. A big 2 RBI single by the Raiders gave the hosts a 5 to 2 margin.

A big third frame by Gillette helped the Riders pull away. First the Seniors failed to score in the inning while the hosts tallied 8 scores to go up 13 to 2. Five walks, 2 hits, and a sac fly propelled Gillette as the Riders went up by 11. Inning #4 had both clubs failing to score. The Peltz Co would get a hit by Jaxon Poss in their last at bat in the fifth but he was left on the bases. Final Riders 13 Spartans 2
