On Sept. 30, Governor Pete Ricketts signed legislation finalizing the redistricting process based on the 2020 Census data.
All of Box Butte County joins Legislative District 47, currently represented by Senator Steve Erdman. Prior to redistricting Box Butte County was split between Legislative District 47 and Legislative District 43, who is currently represented by Senator Tom Brewer.
Under the new redistricting bill, in addition to Box Butte County, Legislative District 47 will contain Arthur, Cheyenne, Deuel, Garden, Grant, Keith, Morrill and Sioux Counties.
Legislative District 48, which is represented by Senator John Stinner, will consist of Banner, Kimball and Scotts Bluff Counties.
Legislative District 43 will be comprised of Blaine, Boyd, Brown, Cherry, Custer, Dawes, Garfield, Keya Paha, Loup, Rock and Sheridan Counties.
