Harold E. Thompson Obituary

Harold E. Thompson was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 unexpectedly at Box Butte General Hospital.  He was born January 9, 1946 to Glen E. and Eileen (CunninghamThompson.

He was raised on the home ranch southeast of AllianceNebraska. Harold graduated from Alliance High School in 1963and Denver Automotive and Diesel Mechanic SchoolHe served in the U.S. Army.  Harold had fond memories of family train tripsvisiting Disney Land when it first opened in 1955, and working cattle on the Sandhills land he loved.

Harold married Marge (Margaret Ann) Seeley on July 101972. To this unionsix
children were bornKarla (Dean) Hall, Jodi (Paul) FriesGlenda (Darren) McCuneKeri (Mike)
GibsonGene (Izzy) Thompsonand Sara (Dustin) Hicks.

Family meant everything to Harold. He truly loved his childrentheir spouseshis
grandchildrenand great-grandchildren. Grandchildren: ChandlerCodyTayleeEmilyAleshia,
MadilynNasonDaycinBraylin, Bo, KydenBransenJaxdenTruettMillieMichea(Reve’);
Great-grandchildren: Achen and Aniston.

Harold was known for his hard workreliabilityand stability. His children have fond
memories of moving cattledigging auto gatescalvingbrandingsand always taking a break at
noon for lunchPaul Harveyand family time. Music was always playing in the background
when Harold was arounda testament to his dedication to his work and family.

Harold became an over-the-road truck driver in 2000. Harold and Marge enjoyed seeing
the United States and hauling loads from all over Alaska to FloridaCalifornia to Maine. Harold
co
uld have been known as an introvert to manybut to his familyhe was funny, caring, outgoing,
fun-loving, and thrived with family around.

Harold retired in 2015 and threw himself into the care of his wife and grandchildren. He
was always available to drive you anywhere, fix any car or household tasks
babysit
grandchildren or grand-puppies, or mow a neighbor’s yard. If Harold could help
he wouldIn
retirement, he became Honey Bear Preschool’s principal and fix-it man
Generations of children
knew Mr
Thompson as a funny, light-hearted soul! Harold spent his time gardeningmaintaining
his storage shed, taking family trips, and gambling with his wife.

Harold is survived by his wife, childrengrandchildren, and great-grandchildrenhis
brother
Grover (Vicki) Thompson; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Pat (Darrell)
Andersen
Johna Eaton, and John (Karyn) Seeley; many nieces and nephewsand friends.

Harold was welcomed to Heaven by his parents, his granddadClay Cunninghamhis
Auntie Alice, his in-laws
Burdell and Pat Seeley, and his sister-inlaw and brother-in-law,
Marilyn and Steve Anderson.
