The Hemingford Bobcats traveled to the Bayard Golf Invitational on May 10, with postponements and weather conditions. The scores in Bayard were also used to determine the Western Trails Conference and Panhandle Conference Tournaments.
The Bobcats tied with Leyton for seventh place out of 11 teams with a team score of 401. Dax Powell led the Bobcats, shooting a score of 87, which placed Powell second in the Panhandle Conference Tournament, sixth in the Western Trails Conference and eighth in the Bayard Invite. Powell’s placements in the Western Trails and Panhandle Conference earned him All-Conference honors.
Darren McConville shot a 95 and made a fifth-place finish in the Panhandle Conference Tournament, which earned him All-Conference honors.
“We are very proud of the efforts of our team. The guys are getting pretty consistent with their scores. For the underclassmen, they should be pretty excited about the opportunities to improve their scores over the next few years and our future is pretty bright. Great job, Bobcats,” said Coach Joe Collins on the performance of the Hemingford Boy’s Golf team.
