Another downtown Alliance business is set to close its doors.
Highway 2 Threads, a clothing store located on Box Butte Avenue in downtown Alliance, announced plans to shutter its doors on Oct. 14. A post on social media stated the reason for shutting down was beyond their control.
“Trust us, it’s not what we want!” the post stated. “This past year has been incredibly tough on many small businesses like ours and while we remained hopeful to make it through, the impact of our current economic situation has taken its toll. And without an end in sight in the near future, we are being forced to close our doors. We ask for your prayers as we navigate this.”
Highway 2 Threads will host a sale, which began on Tuesday, where inventory will be 40 percent. The post noted that all outstanding gift cards will be honored through Oct. 14.
Highway 2 Threads joins two other downtown Alliance businesses that have closed in the past year: Redman’s Shoes and William’s Jewelers.
Alliance has also seen a wake of new businesses opening or preparing to open their doors in this time, including Platte Valley Soap and Sweet Pickin’s downtown.
