David Faust said if he sold glue his motto would be, “stick with it.” The last part of Hebrews 3:14, could have a motto like this, “hold firmly to the end.” Because we don’t know the date of our end, we must determine to hold firm when we first begin. Can you remember beginning a life dedicated to Jesus? Were you a young man or woman when you first believed that Jesus is the Son of God? (John 20:31), Matthew 16:16). There is a time when we first believed and saw life differently from just existing. Do you remember that time of repentance as you allowed the sacrifice of Jesus to cleanse your conscience? Wanting to have a new beginning which is worth hanging on to until the end, brought you into a new life when you were baptized, as were those of the new church in Acts 2:37-39. Hold firmly to the end! Yes, there is a wonderful beginning to the Christian life. And, if we hold firmly to the end there is a glorious ending. The apostle Paul followed God’s instruction in writing, “I Have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7). Philippians 1:6, develops our faith journey of life and is our encouragement.. Join the many who “hold firmly to the end.”
