Scores in all three innings powered the Alliance Navy group past Hot Springs 16 to 2 on Wednesday. The Peltz Co now has 20-21-2 mark for the season. Alliance put the contest away with 11 first inning scores to take a big lead. The game was played in Alliance and was the second game of a doubleheader between the teams.
The Spartans were also victorious in the opener , winning 13 to 2. Alliance pounded out 9 hits on the evening. Teagan O’Gorman led the Navy club with 3 hits while Israel Garcia added 2. On the hill was Casyn Rodriguez who pitched all 4 innings and had 7 k’s.
A single, a walk, and a double propelled the guests to a 2 run lead in the top of the first. Rodriguez had 2 strikeouts in the frame. Alliance had 6 of their 9 hits in the bottom of the inning in scoring 11 times. The onslaught began with a triple by Garcia. An RBI single by O’Gorman followed as the Spartans closed to 2 to 1. The game was then tied at 2 after a hit by Tanner Salcido. Up next was Rodriguez whose single continued the rally. Alliance took the lead then following an RBI single by Miguel Galvan. With the bases full , the Peltz Co ‘s next 2 runs came after RBI walks to Cisco Cody and Dixon Bair. A wild pitch made the scoreboard read 7 to 2. The final scores came on an RBI groundout by Salcido, an error by Hot Springs, and a hit by Logan Freiberger. After one inning of action, the Navy team was up 11 to 2.
Rodriguez held Post 71 scoreless in the second while the Spartans added to their advantage with 2 more runs. Knocks by Garcia and O’Gorman gave Alliance a 13 to 2 margin. Inning 3 was another good one for Rodriguez as he recorded a strikeout and held the guests without a run. Three more runs by Alliance in the home half made it a 16 to 2 ball game.
