Janet was born on November 20, 1951 in Alliance, NE to Edward and Lorena (Inman) Jackson. Janet was welcomed home by her big brother Loren. Janet grew up attending school in Alliance, graduation with the class of 1970. After graduation Janet attended Chadron State College. While attending college Janet met the love of her life, Gregg Luebe. Gregg and Janet were united in marriage on June 3, 1972.
Upon Gregg taking his first teaching job, Gregg and Janet moved to Mitchell, NE. In September of 1972 they were blessed with a son, Shane Alan Luebe. Four years later they welcomed a daughter, Kristie Lynn Luebe. In their early years of marriage, Janet stayed home with her children while babysitting for several other teachers in the Mitchell school system. As her kids grew older, Janet stayed active by following Gregg and the kids to numerous sporting activities. She thoroughly enjoyed cheering on her children in their different activities.
Janet’s life revolved around her family. She enjoyed going on weeklong camping trips with her family, even though she claimed it was no vacation for her since she was still doing the cooking and cleaning. Janet also loved to play games which led her to become the Assistant Activities Director for the Mitchell Care Center for 18 years. Janet enjoyed playing card games at family reunions as well as Old Maid with the grandkids. After Janet suffered a stroke in 2011, she still found enjoyment in going to Deadwood with Gregg to play the slots. This time spent with Gregg brought Janet much enjoyment.
Janet is survived by her husband of 49 years Gregg; son Shane and wife Missy of Sidney, NE; daughter Kristie and husband Travis of Springview, NE; and her five grandchildren Nick, Payton, Camden, Kallie, and Logan.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lorena Jackson; in-laws Waleen and Ruby Luebe; brother Loren Jackson; and many aunts and uncles.
