Jean Ann Marchant, 79, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023, at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance.
She was born on August 4, 1943, in Chadron, Nebraska to William and Ruth (Crowe) Christensen.
Jean grew up in Chadron, but moved with her family to Scottsbluff, Nebraska where she attended and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1962.
On August 20, 1964, she was united in marriage to William A. “Bill” Marchant in Chadron. Bill and Jean moved to Alliance where Jean was a housewife and a stay-at-home mother, raising her two daughters. She later worked at many retail businesses in Alliance.
Jean was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Box Butte Hospital Auxiliary. She was known for being a great decorator, always decorating her home for every holiday.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Jeff) Metz of Angora, and Tori Marchant of Scottsbluff; her two grandsons that she was so proud of, Dillon and Logan Metz of Angora; her brother, Melvin Christensen of Chadron; brother in laws, Bob Olson of Alliance, Bob Marchant of Chadron, Don (Laurie) Marchant of Kaw City, Oklahoma and her sister-in-law, Norene (Steve) Jensen of Gering; Many special nieces and nephews, Jodi Sutphen, Amy Varner, Brad Olson, Bill Christensen, Brian Fisher, Cindi Nielsen, Christi Glenn, Daniel Marchant, Matthew Jensen, and Mark Jensen; and her loving cat Louie. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Marge Olson and her sister-in-law, Dolores Christensen.
Memorial services will be Monday, June 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Matt Koperski officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
