Jessen Farms Awards Four Scholarships

Jessen Farms is pleased to announce it has awarded $2,500 scholarships to four members of the 2023 graduating class of Alliance High School. The scholarship winners are:

• Carver Hauptman, the son of Brian and Heather Hauptman, plans to attend Cornell University and major in Environment and Sustainability with an emphasis in Ornithology. After graduation, Carver is planning to pursue a career in ornithology or a related field.

• Dezyrae Hausmann, the daughter of Joel and Stephany Hausmann, will attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she will major in Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication with an Agricultural Education option. She plans to teach agriculture in rural Nebraska and serve as an FFA advisor.

• Peyton Ann Kindred, the daughter of Brian and Cassie Kindred, will major in chemistry and biology at Black Hills State University in Spearfish. After graduation, she plans to attend the veterinary schools affiliated with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Iowa State University in Ames. These schools offer a 2+2 program with the first two years in Nebraska and the last two years in Iowa.

• Nicholas Andre Waldron, the son of Rusty and Natalie Waldron, will pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, possibly moving up to the middle and high school level as he completes continuing education classes. Nicholas also plans to earn a coaching endorsement so he can coach basketball.

Each year, Jessen Farms, a family farming corporation operating in Box Butte County, offers up to four $2,500 scholarships to seniors graduating from Alliance High School. This need-based scholarship was established in 2018.
