On December 14, 2020 we lost an amazing husband, father, and grandfather when John C. Green passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at the age of 66.
John had a personality and sense of humor that was unique, genuine and all his own. He will be so greatly missed.
John was born in Alliance and lived most of his life in the Alliance area. At an early age he developed a love for the sandhills of Nebraska and was able to spend the last several years living in Hyannis with the love of his life, his wife Karla. As many know, John was a long-haul truck driver for most of his working years having learned to drive a semi at an early age when helping his dad. John did enjoy brief stints of bull and bronc riding as well as working as a farm/ranch hired hand. These dabbles in other careers led to a life-long love of rodeos and brandings. John would help anyone he could and would absolutely teach you anything he knew.
Among those left heartbroken by his loss are his wife, Karla Green of Hyannis, his daughter Banner (Brian) Combs of Loveland, his stepdaughter Sondra (Laif) Anderson, his stepson Jeremy (Karen) Benzel, his beloved grandchildren Alex, Paytyn, Matt, Kayla, Elliott, Ashlynn, Matthias, Andrew, Hannah, James, Veronica, Joshua, his sisters Suzan (John) Davis, Jody Green, Cindy (Greg) Pipitt and Joyce (Jim) Madison, his great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, many cousins and friends. John was reunited at his death with his son Jake, his granddaughter Shelby, his parents John and Verna, as well as his brother, niece, and nephew.
At this time, a memorial service is not planned. In lieu of flowers and other gifts John would want you to maintain your vehicle, making sure you have proper tires and that your turn signals are in good, working order and being used as directed.
