Joseph D. Maxey, 71, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 at his home. Joe was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
Following his military service, Joe was a lifelong truck driver and drove until his health prevented him from being able to do so. Joe enjoyed many things, but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his beloved granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine Maxey of Savannah, MO; his children, Shawna (James) Colby of Savannah, MO, Jason Maxey of Alliance, and Christopher Maxey of Alliance; 6 granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren; his brother, Chris Maxey of Flatwoods, LA; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl Maxey.
A visitation with family present will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. A funeral service will then follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m.
