Joseph Morris Weekes, 83 years old passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025,at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1942 in St Johns Montserrat, British West Indies, to Catherine Weekes. He migrated to Trinidad, West Indies in 1950 where he later learned his electrical skills. He transmigrate to the USA in 1964. On January 28,1965 he enlisted into the military. He was a member of the Army for 3 years, and was Honorably discharged on January 31, 1968. Upon discharged he becamed employed at NYC Transit Authority until 1975. He then relocated to Colorado and was employed at a Locomotive Test Facility. In 1976 he tranferred to Nebraska. In Nebraska he was employed for over 40 years as an electrician for Burlington Santa Fe Railroad. He spent his latter days in Covington, GA.
He married Margaret Reddock on August 16, 1969, in Brooklyn New York. He enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, game shows and cars. He is survived by his wife Margaret, two sons, Ronald,Colin and his wife Elizabeth, granndson Isaiah, step mother-in-law Lynette Niles, sister Esther Chandler, brothers- in- law Errol Reddock,and Adrian Niles and wife Charlene, sisters – in-law, Ann Marie R-Francis and husband Clifton, Hyacinth Parris and son Stephen, and Lynotine Reddock, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by Catherine Chandler, Hayes Chandler and Kenneth Chandler; mother, stepfather and brother, in addition to Ermine Reddock, Errol Niles, and Edna Niles, mother-in-law, father-in-law and stepmother- in-law.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday June 18, 2025. 2:00pm at Church of the Good Shepherd E.C.
