A very successful weekend for the Peltz Co white team concluded with a big 15 to 1 win over the Sliders of Rapid City. The Spartans started the weekend with a victory over the navy club. On Saturday, the Peltz Co continued their winning ways by downing Gordon and McCook. Alliance completed their stretch in dominating fashion with a victory on Sunday. In a three inning contest, Alliance plated 11 runs in the second to pull away. Starting pitcher Tony Escamilla went the distance for Alliance, giving up 4 hits while recording 2 strike outs. The Peltz Co finished the game with 11 hits. Having 2 knocks each were: Kegan Nelson Kobe Strom Carver Nemnich and Lexton Salcido.
Rapid failed to score in the top of the first while the Spartan offense used the momentum to take a lead in their trip to the plate in bottom of the frame. Walks by Jaxon Poss and Strom set the table for Nemnich whose triple made the scoreboard read 2 to 0. The scoring continued following a Slider error and a hit by Salcido. After one inning of play, the Spartans led 4 to 0.
A double play turned by the Peltz Co in the top of the second kept the guests off the board. In the home half of the inning, Alliance’s bats came alive. Poss singled with one out and scored a hit by Nelson. An RBI knock by Strom then made the score 6 to 0. The Spartans would cash in on another tally thanks to an error by Rapid and a passed ball. Jaxson Esparza was next and his double put the Slider deficit at 8 to 0. Three straight extra base hits by Salcido, EJ Garcia, and Nelson ensued, giving the Peltz Co a 13 to 0 margin. The inning finished with hits by Strom and Nemnich as the Spartan advantage went to 15 to 0 heading to the third. Rapid City would score one run in the top of inning #3 but it wasn’t enough. The game was called due to the run rule with Alliance getting the 15 to 1 win.
