I want to thank the Alliance Times-Herald for the privilege of writing biblical thoughts for the paper each week. As you read these thoughts I want you to know my thinking background. I became a Christian in 1954. Following that decision, there are two basic principles which have guided my life: 1. I believe the Bible is God’s word to His creation, including you and me. God inspired men as they wrote His will for us (II Timothy 3:16). 2. I believe God’s word is a safe guide for my life. If we search for answers to make life meaningful in God’s word, we will find it (John 5:39). The basic material for these articles is the Bible, even as the Bible is the basic authority for life, for sermons and for studies.
I have been interim minister at Alliance Christian Church for about a year and have enjoyed that association with the people. My first pulpit ministry was in 1962. Since that time I have ministered in seven other churches. If you have a question or comment you would like me to write about please direct inquiry to the newspaper.
