Kalin Krohe Reference Announces Release of Sophomore LP, Deja Vu

What do you get when you cross the songwriting centricity of Conor Oberst and Tom Petty with the musical predilection of The Doors and The Kinks? The closest answer may be Western Nebraska’s up-and-coming Kalin Krohe Reference.

For the past few years, Krohe’s music has been shepherded under the watchful ears of Nashville-based producer Nicolas Hosford (Outer Vibe). With the release of sophomore LP, Deja Vu, Krohe and Hosford deliver a much-anticipated tour de force follow-up to 2019’s Neon Halos.

Diving into the mystery of the subconscious—looking to “Feathers on sidewalks,” “Memories in every town,” and a “Cloud of lakes” for meaning—Krohe attempts to put some of his life’s puzzle pieces together, while creating a musical mosaic for posterity: “It’s an awakening—a great big awakening.”

Deja Vu features Krohe accompanied by Outer Vibe veterans Hosford, Lisa Kacos, and Sean Zuidgeest; along with studio legend Billy Livsey (Tina Turner, Kenny Rogers, Pete Townshend).

Deja Vu will be celebrated with a CD release party and performance at Dead Unicorn Society on Friday, November, 24 in Alliance beginning at 7 p.m.. Special guests performing at the concert are Shon Townesend Band and Gabriel The Brute. The album will be available at Crossroads Music in Alliance, as well as wherever you consume music online, i.e. Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, etc. Four music videos by Sandhills Films are available on YouTube.
