Karen Ann (Crum) Chipperfield Obituary

Karen Ann (Crum) Chipperfield, age 69, passed from this life at Hemingford Community Care Center on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Karen was born on December 7, 1954 to Roger L. and W. Jean (Abbott) Crum.

She grew up in Alliance, Nebraska along with her siblings Mary Crum and James “Jim” Crum. Karen graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1973. She then continued her studies at West Nebraska Community College and received an associates degree in business. After graduating Karen worked for the Alliance Public School’s as a secretary. She then worked for Alco Department Store as a customer service representative / cashier.

Karen married the love of her life, Raymond E. Chipperfield on May 29, 1979 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance, Nebraska.  To this union they were blessed with three children, Christopher, Jeannie-Marie and Andrea. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her smile, laughter, and kindness would light up a room. These traits will be carried on through her loving children and grandchildren. Karen was the piece of the puzzle that held our family together. Forever loved and in our hearts, she will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Chipperfield; her son, Christopher J. Chipperfield; her daughters, Jeannie-Marie (Sebastian) Scott and Andrea Chipperfield and fiancé Johnathan Matula, all of Alliance. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Crum; her sister in-law, Carol (Becker) Crum; her brother in-laws, Dwight (Shelly) Chipperfield, Breck Chipperfield and Greg Jones; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, she is survived by special furry friends Dumpling, Roxie, Kylo and Yogi; feathered friends Moly, Poly, Cupcake and a host of parakeets.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Crum.

Private family memorial services will be held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Father Matt Koperski will officiate.  Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, or Pawsative Endings Dog Rescue, and sent in care of the family at, 1042 Colorado Ave., Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
