Kasandra Lorine Finley, 48, was born in Stratton, Nebraska on February 7, 1972 and passed away in Alliance, Nebraska on December 31, 2020.
Her parents Kenneth and Glenda (Grigg) Jelinek raised her on the family farm located northwest of Alliance. She loved spending time with her animals. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1990. She obtained her Associates Degree from Seward Community College with a 4.0 GPA.
Kasandra was married to the love of her life, Shane Finley, in Atwood, Kansas on August 4, 1999. She had two children, Joshua Brown and Alexandra Finley. She shared her love of animals and shared Leroy with Joshua, Swiper with Alexandra, Lightening with Shane and the family’s dog Bubbles. For most of her life, Kasandra was a hairstylist, making sure those around her feel beautiful and special. Kasandra’s smile was infectious. Kasandra most recently worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance as an underwriter. She loved helping people.
Kasandra was an avid garage seller, enjoyed collecting antiques, loved a good bargain, and had a passion for decorating. There was no project too big or too small. She loved introducing her nephews and nieces to her addiction (Mountain Dew). Most of all, she enjoyed worshiping God and reading scripture.
Kasandra is survived by her husband, Shane Finley of Colby, KS; her children, Joshua Brown of Colorado Springs, CO and Alexandra Finley of Lawrence, KS; and her mother, Glenda Jelinek of Alliance. She is also survived by her brothers, Jim (Laurie) Jelinek, Brian Jelinek and Darren (Christy) Jelinek, all of Alliance; her sisters, Krystal Gray of Alliance and Jandell (Paul) Warner of Greeley, CO; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marc (Cassidy) Finley of Colby, KS, Matthew (Rachel) Finley of Atwood, KS and Lance (Natasha) Finley of Sharon Springs, KS; her sister and brother-in-law, Stacy (Matt) Horinek of Colby, KS; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Jelinek.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel and simultaneously livestreamed on the Kasandra Finley funeral Facebook page. Reverend Dean Dockins will officiate.
