Ken M Drake of Alliance Nebraska passed away on Sept 26th in Duluth, Mn while he was back home visiting in Wisconsin. He was surrounded by family at the time his passing, his body was tired and could no longer fight his COPD and Emphysema.
He was born on July 6th, 1952 in Superior, WI and was the son to Jim and Celia (LeBlanc) Drake.
He grew up in Solon springs, WI and graduated from St. Croix School. He worked the family logging and saw mill business during his school years. After school he went to work for the CNW Railroad in Superior. After a few years he ventured out to California and worked various jobs as a Mechanic, Machinist, Auto body and other odd jobs. He did end up back working for the railroad in Alliance which he retired from in 2016 as a Machinist. Ken had a strong love of hunting, firearms, reloading and motors/machinery from a very early age and it carried with him till the end. If he wasn’t working you would find him in his garage working on motors/machinery, reloading ammo, fixing/repairing or building firearms.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Celia Drake and a brother Don.
He is survived by 3 children, daughter Beth (Paul) Tjypkes of Northome, MN, daughter Jasmine Drake in Neosho, MO and son Antionio (Kirstin) Drake of Maple, Wi. He has 5 grandchildren, Autumn, Arianna, Dylan, Roman and Arlo. Also survived by 3 siblings, Kathy Mohs of Solon Springs, WI, Jamie (Jonette) of Apache Jct, AZ and Cindy (Todd) Gilbert of Solon springs, WI and many nieces and nephews.
Per his request, there will be no funeral services.
