Kenneth G. Rohrbouck, 91, of Alliance, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
He was born October 26, 1931 in Alliance to Jacob and Leona Rohrbouck at the family farm west of Alliance, NE. On June 4, 1954 he married the love of his life, Thelma Spongberg. To this union 2 children were born, Cindy and Kenny. They were also blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kenneth and Thelma were married for over 50 years, when Thelma died Dec. 23, 2005.
Kenneth joined the U.S. Air Force on December 21, 1951 and served his county for over 20 years. He was awarded many distinguished honors including, Air Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal.
Following his discharge in 1973 he returned to Alliance and was employed at Dayco. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his children, Cindy (David) Ford and Kenneth Rohrbouck of Anchorage, AK, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews including Janice and Norm Richardson of Chadron. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Graveside services will be Thursday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alliance Cemetery. Reverend Gary Belk will officiate and military honors will be provided. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on Thursday at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
