The Keri Votruba Aspiring Youth in Ag Scholarship, a new memorial scholarship set up to honor the memory of a beloved Hemingford native, has received a generous $25,000 grant from AgriBank out of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Mr. Keri Votruba enjoyed many passions in his life, including his family, farming, cattle, his hometown community, Hemingford, and helping young people succeed. Over his lifetime he employed several young people in his operation and worked hard to help them succeed in whatever path they chose.
Keri Votruba was involved in agriculture for sixty years both as a producer and as a member of several banking boards. Keri graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Ag Business from Eastern Wyoming College and was elected Vice President on the State Future Farmers of America. Keri’s other passion, finance, led him to join the AgriBank Board of Directors in 2004 and was elected as chair for the second time in 2019, amongst other notable honors and career highlights.
AgriBank of St. Paul, Minnesota has pledged a generous $25,000 grant to the Keri Votruba Aspiring Youth in Ag Scholarship with respect and honor to their former chair, Keri Votruba. This gift is an investment in the future ag leaders of Hemingford, that they might find their passion in agriculture.
This scholarship is under the management of the Hemingford Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Oregon Trail Community Foundation. To learn more about the Keri Votruba Aspiring Youth in Ag Scholarship, visit www.otcf.org. Deadline to apply for this scholarship is Feb. 15, 2022.
