On August 2nd, 2024 our beloved Kurt Shrader entered into eternal life surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederic and Gloria Shrader and brother Donald Shrader.
Born July 28th 1954 in Berwick PA, Kurt enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975 as a military police officer and there met his wife Karen. Together Kurt and Karen had three children, Kelly Murphy, Kevin Shrader, Kristi Shrader and two grandsons, Ezekiel Edwards and Isaac Murphy. Kurt and Karen Shrader resided in Central Florida from 1979 through 2021, after which they moved to Alliance, Nebraska.
Kurt was passionate about music, and served the Lord by playing saxophone on the worship team at the Connection Church in Kissimmee, Florida. Kurt was a general manager at a trucking company for decades, before retiring as a bus driver for Disneyworld. He enjoyed boating, shooting, motorcycling, golf and football (Go Dolphins!).
Kurt is survived by his loving wife Karen, daughters Kelly and Kristi, son Kevin, son-in-law Robert Edwards and grandsons Ezekiel Edwards and Isaac Murphy. Kurt had a fatherly influence on some of his kid’s friends as well, including Julius Donat and Shawn Green.
Graveside services with military honors and Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating will be Thursday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery.
