Lady Bulldogs Drop Finale to Red Raiders

The Sidney Lady Red Raiders dominated their game against the Alliance Lady Bulldogs on Friday night, securing a decisive 55-10 victory in the final regular-season contest of the year. Sidney came out strong from the start, building a commanding first-quarter lead and never looking back. With the loss, Alliance concludes their regular season with a 4-19 record, while Sidney heads into districts with an impressive 19-4 record.

The matchup, held in Sidney, saw the Bulldogs struggle offensively, managing only 10 points throughout the game. Brooke Bailey led the Bulldogs in scoring with 4 points, while Addison Weber grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds. Sidney also claimed victory in the junior varsity game earlier in the day, defeating Alliance 67-18.

The game began with Sidney setting the tone early, hitting a three-pointer to take control. The Raiders’ aggressive press forced numerous turnovers, leaving Alliance struggling to find their rhythm on offense. By the six-minute mark, Sidney had extended their lead to 9-0. Alliance’s offense remained stagnant throughout the first quarter, while the Raiders continued to capitalize on their opportunities. A Sidney free throw at the four-minute mark pushed their lead to 15-0, and they closed the quarter with a 9-0 run, taking a commanding 24-0 lead into the second period.

Sidney opened the second quarter with another basket, extending their lead to 26-0. Alliance finally got on the board when sophomore Paz Cody came off the bench and drained a three-pointer at the seven-minute mark. Sidney responded with three more points, but a basket by Addison Weber cut the deficit to 29-5. A free throw by Macey Seebohm with four minutes remaining in the half accounted for Alliance’s final points of the quarter. Sidney closed the half with a 10-0 run, taking a 39-6 lead into the break.

Cold shooting continued to plague the Bulldogs in the third quarter, as they managed just one point. Sidney opened the period with three quick points, and a free throw by Brooke Bailey made the score 43-7. However, that would be Alliance’s only point of the quarter. Sidney added five more points, extending their lead to 48-7 heading into the final period.

The fourth quarter saw a slower pace, with Sidney scoring 7 points and Alliance adding 3. Two free throws by Bailey midway through the quarter made the score 50-9, but Sidney answered with five straight points to push their lead to 55-9. The game concluded with another free throw by Bailey, as the Lady Bulldogs fell 55-10.
