Box Butte County Weed Superintendent, Brett Lauder, recently attended the 77th Annual Nebraska Weed Control Association (NWCA) Conference in Norfolk, Nebraska. Lauder was presented with an award for the 2023 Outstanding Weed Superintendent Region V. NWCA consists of six regions across the state, Region V includes the following counties: Banner, Box Butte, Cheyenne, Dawes, Deuel, Garden, Kimball, Morrill, Scotts Bluff, Sheridan, and Sioux. “Every award winner has gone above and beyond the necessary duties to help prevent the spread of noxious weeds across the state,” Nebraska Weed Control Association. Lauder is in his third year in the position, as he has been appointed to serve as the County Weed Superintendent during reorganization in January of 2022, 2023, and 2024. His extensive knowledge of noxious weeds, commitment to continuing education, and dedication to quality control truly make him a valuable asset to the residents of Box Butte County.
