On Saturday Aug. 7 the Box Butte Health Foundation (BBHF) Inaugural Golf Classic raised $32,067 overall. All funds raised by the foundation are put back into BBGH and the community to ensure the community always has access to high quality healthcare. In recent years funds have contributed to the construction of the Rehab & Wellness Center, and a donation to Activate Alliance, among other projects focused on improving the health of our community. BBHF Director Chelsea Thompson said, “We are excited to build a weekend every year where you are able to look forward to experiencing the joy of including an organization that plays a key role within the community in your charitable giving.”
It’s not just about the money. The atmosphere the day of the event is filled with fun-loving, generous people who enjoy the game of golf and the company of each other.
“It is so enjoyable to see hospital vendors, employees, and community members come together to celebrate the hospital, and a worthy cause,” Thompson said. The BBHF thanks everyone for their support for the Foundation and its quest to ensure the health of BBGH and the community.
There is always something to learn from with each passing year, and more fun things to add. In addition to keeping the tournament staples– a scramble format, skills bets, and a chip store – the committee added silent auction baskets and a quilt raffle. “We want to keep the atmosphere of the tournament the same fun, light, and competitive feel it’s had. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
