Lorraine N. Summers, 82, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance.
She was born on August 23, 1938 in Lincoln, NE to Russell and Naomi (Cadwallader) Lundquist.
On June 18, 1955 she was united in marriage to Kermit Summers in Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union three sons were born. Her husband’s career with Burlington Northern Railroad brought them to Alliance in 1966 living here until 1974. They then moved to Washington and Minnesota before moving back to Alliance in 1982.
Lorraine was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the Ladies Group as well as volunteering with the Box Butte General Hospital Auxiliary. She was very proud of her sons all serving in the military.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Steve and Bev Summers of Hay Springs, Jeff and Lori Summers of White Bear Lake, MN and Douglas and Debbie Summers of St. Michael, MN, her grandchildren, Jeff, Shannon, Aaron, Andrew, Joshua, Matt, Jeff, Chrissy and Angie, 7 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Kathy Lundquist of Lincoln.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and her brothers, Russell Lundquist, Jr. and Ernest Lundquist.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Reverend Richard C. Mueller and Reverend Shaun Daugherty will officiate. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 11 from 1-7 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Group or the Memory Support Unit of Highland Park Care Center.
