Margaret Ann “Peggy” (Moeller) Sheldon was born February 11,1951 in Alliance, Nebraska to Frank Bernard and Betty Ann (Hansen) Moeller. She went to walk with Jesus on July 5, 2022.
Peggy was raised on the family farm northeast of Hemingford. She loved farm life and her years in 4-H. She has one sister Janice (Richard) McLain, of Keller, TX and two brothers Greg (Sharol) Moeller of Holdrege, NE and Gary (Sue) Moeller of Alliance and brother-in-law Don (Julie) Sheldon of Alliance and sister-in-law Susan (Dale) Householder of Hill City, SD.
Peggy was married to Dann E. Reynolds on January 5, 1971 in Hemingford, NE. To that union were born one son Ryan Leroy Reynolds and two daughters Danielle Renee Lehl and Desiree Kae Reynolds.
Peggy was married to Eugene F. Sheldon on August 24, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. She was blessed with the addition of three children to her life: Christine (Jim) Karell, Marshall Sheldon and Jennifer (Alex) Dumlao.
Peggy was baptized at St. Bridget’s Catholic church and again in 1994 at the Alliance Berean Church, where she remains a member. Peggy gave her life to Jesus and He walked with her always, giving her life joy and peace. Peggy worked as an accountant in Denver from 1971 until they moved home in 1974 where she worked alongside her husband running their farm. In 1978, she and her mother opened the Ceramic Boutique in Hemingford, serving many clients until 1990. Peggy opened the A+ tax shop next door to the ceramic shop in 1980. She served many treasured clients through generations with the help of many loyal employees.
Peggy considered it a privilege to serve her hometown of Hemingford for 25 years as Administrator-Clerk Treasurer. She was blessed to be a part of many organizations and honored to serve alongside many wonderful people on numerous boards and committees. She worked among many city employees and board members, forming lifelong friendships.
The mission committee at the Berean Church was a true joy. Peggy served in local mission work, as well as missions in Spain, Zambia and several trips to Honduras, which added many loved ones to her list. She was very blessed by the friends she served with. She also served alongside her husband Gene, her daughter Desiree and granddaughter Aubrey. After her stroke, she continued to support missions and kept in touch with the missionaries.
Her greatest accomplishments were her grandchildren: Gaige Lehl, Jacob Jurgens Lehl; Aubrey Ann, Xavier Allen and Jacob Lee Picket Pin; Benjamin Daniel and Mia Shea Reynolds, Haden James and Katrina Jade Karell; Vincent Marshall Sheldon, and Milo Daniel Sheldon Dumlao, great grandchildren Nikaylee Renee, Amari Ann and Jesse Dubray. She had numerous “grandchildren” and “great grandchildren” from her mission family in Honduras.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Sheldon, daughter Danielle Lehl, grandparents Carl and Jessie Hansen, Edward Miller, Frank J. and Minnie Moeller, her father Frank Moeller and mother Betty Ann Moeller. sister-in-law Helen Nikont and brother-in-law Theron Nikont. Father-in-law Raymond Sheldon and mother-in-law Agnes Sheldon, special uncle Joe Moeller, uncles Paul Hansen, Lloyd Knaub, and Gordon Delabarre, and her very dear friend Margarite Bremer.
Although Peggy left many here that were precious to her, she was excited about being reunited with many who had left before her.
Memorial services will be Friday, July 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alliance Berean Church. Pastor Glenn Johnson will officiate. A lunch to follow, then interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Hemingford Cemetery.
