Mary K. Hartwig, 84, died Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Skyview Care Center in Bridgeport.
She was born October 7, 1936 in Greenville, Mississippi to William and Ruby (Reynolds) Allen.
She married William J. Hartwig on February 6, 1954 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Mary worked for many years at Electric Hose & Rubber, and was a childcare provider to many for several years thereafter. She loved cooking and baking and will be remembered for her generosity. Her doors were always open.
Mary was a member of the Heartland Baptist Church, where her church family was such a special part of her life and such a comfort and support to her.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Penny) Hartwig of Alliance, Sherry (Joe) Covey of Moscow, ID, Debra Benitez and Sonja Beck, both of Phoenix, AZ, and Jill (Aaron) Jurgens of Leon, KS; her son-in-law, Mike (Carol) Leonard of Alliance; 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janet Leonard, her husband, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and her son-in-law, Mike Benitez.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alliance Cemetery. Pastor Dennis Gruber will officiate.
Memorials may be given to the Heartland Baptist Church of Alliance.
