Mary Louise Walth, 91, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance. She was born on May 15, 1928 at Fruitdale, South Dakota to Andrew and Lydia (Lapp) Amen.

She was married to Harry Simon and had 2 children, Larry and Carol.

On September 8, 1972 she was united in marriage to Harley F. Walth.

Mary really loved her cats. All the cats that come to eat and if pregnant brought in until kittens weened.

When she was much younger she thought with a clearer mind. These last few years our mother succumbed to some kind of illness that caused her to forget she had given people things such as money gifts and furniture she no longer had a use for.  Mary became reclusive sometimes not answering the phone or doorbell for days, weeks at a time plus her physical and mental health took a beating with a constant diet of McDonald’s hamburgers and large fries. She was in her yard and hurt her right foot. She tried home remedies and treatments for the infection which ultimately lead to gangrene poisoning. Mary was near death until a friend looked thru her window and saw her motionless and on the floor unconscious. She went to hospital and then nursing home back and forth until she eventually passed on.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Patty) Simon of Sturgis and Carol Coons of Prineville, OR;  her grandchildren, Renee Nixon and great-grandchild, Ryder of  Chadron, NE and Celina (Cory) Friesen of Terrebone, OR; sister, Clara Walsh of Rapid City, SD and brothers Harold (Butch) Amen of Emmett, Idaho; and Jerry (Nancy) Amen of Albuquerque, NM.    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harley Walth; brothers, Kenny Amen and Conrad (Sonny) Amen; and sisters, Violet Hoffman Helen Scholl and Sandra Ott.

Mom had told us that she had taken the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and is now in His Kingdom, care, and love. RIP Mom
