Mary P. Steggs, 67, passed away July 31, 2021 from cancer at her daughter’s home in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was married to Stephen Steggs on July 8, 1977 in Alliance at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They had met while both were in the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX in 1974.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bridget (O’Neil) Mulhern, her brothers, James and John Mulhern, her granddaughter, Deonna Davis and her husband’s parents, Harold and Idelle (Dorshorst) Steggs.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen, their four children and grandchildren, son, Christopher and Kathe (Casey) Steggs and their children, Christian and Tyler Gunderson, Emily, Evan and Eric Steggs, son, Matthew and Tiffany (Oest) Steggs and their children, Jonathan, Stephen and Isabella Steggs, daughter, Linda Steggs Davis and Joe Dan Reed, and their children, Derrick and Drea Davis, son, Richard and Kristin (Opher) Steggs and their children, Haliegh, Thye and Alea Steggs. She is also survived by her siblings, Fran and Dianne Mulhern, Bridget and Jim Collins, Geraldine and Jim White, Michael and Laurie Mulhern and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dearest friends, Deb and Patrick Paul Snipes, Tammy and Juan Hernandez, Nancy Pumphrey, Sharon Lulow and Barb Cornette.
Services will be Friday, September 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery. A lunch will precede the service at Noon at the Alliance Eagles Club.
