Monte Reeves Obituary

Monte Reeves was born on March 5, 1971 to Jerry and Joan (Aspden) Reeves in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He attended school at Cheyenne Aero Tech in Wyoming. On August 7, 1993, Monte was united in marriage to Nicci Neafus at St. John’s Lutheran Church. He worked at Duncan Aviation for 29 years, starting as an airframe mechanic then becoming a Structure’s Team Leader and finally moving to the role of Project Manager. Monte served the Lincoln and Seward communities as a youth coach for baseball and football. He also led the Saline County Pheasants Forever Youth Mentor Hunt Program. In his free time Monte enjoyed spending time with his family. Monte was a Sooner football enthusiast, baseball fan and avid hunter. He loved spending time cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners and hunting with his sons and father. He enjoyed plowing through the snow banks of Wyoming on his snowmobile and jumping mud puddles and trails in his RZR. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Monte passed away on October 20, 2020 at the age of 49 years, 7 months and 15 days at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Nicci Reeves, Seward, Nebraska; sons, Jakob Reeves, Lincoln, Nebraska and Trevor Reeves, Seward, Nebraska; parents, Jerry and Joan Reeves, Seward, Nebraska; sisters, Brande (Jerry) Calway, Seward, Nebraska, Wendy (Matthew) Rhoads, Lincoln, Nebraska; nephews, Tyler and Riley Calway, Cale Rhoads; mother-in-law, Cheryl Neafus, Lincoln, Nebraska; father and mother-in-law, Don and Gloria Neafus, Springtown, Texas; his faithful hunting dogs, “The Girls”, Ruby, Lyndy and Molly. Monte was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
