The Alliance Navy team made quick work of the Vikings of Wyoming in baseball action on Saturday. In a three inning affair, the Spartans downed Valor 12 to 0. Alliance improves to 9 and 8 with the W. Israel Garcia was the top performer of offense for the Peltz Co with 3 of Alliance’s 7 hits. On the hill, Spartan Fletcher Moseman went all 3 innings. He allowed just 2 hits and had 6 strike outs.
Alliance batted first and scored once in the top of the opener. Teagan O’Gorman was hit by a pitch and eventually scored on a run scoring double by Moseman. Two k’s then by Moseman held the Wyoming squad scoreless in the bottom of the first. A couple of hits by Alliance plus 2 walks helped the Spartans increase their advantage in the top of inning 2. Knocks by Garcia and Cisco Cody started the rally. Walks then ensued from Kylar Adams and Jackson Devlin led to Alliance‘s second tally. The Peltz Co was then aided by a 2 run error by the Vikings, making the score 4 to 0. Valor didn’t score in bottom of the second.
Eight runs in the third by the Spartans ended the game. Once again, it Garcia and Cody leading the offense. Garcia had a hit and moved into scoring position following a walk by Cody. A balk by the Casper pitcher put the score at 5 to 0. Devlin walked to load the sacks for O’Gorman. The Spartan singled to put Alliance up by 6. The bases were then cleared after a 3 run error by Valor. Run # 10 then crossed the plate after an RBI groundout by Carson Stull. The Peltz Co added 2 more thanks a Moseman walk, a hit by Logan Freiberger, and a 2 run scoring hit by Garcia. The Wyoming team failed to score in the bottom of the third as Alliance Navy club went on for the 12 to win.
