CHADRON – Two new employees have joined Chadron State College’s department of Enrollment Management. Carlie Collier is a new Admissions Representative and Payton Strong is a Financial Aid Specialist.
Collier, a 2023 CSC graduate, from Dunning, Nebraska, was a member of the women’s track and field team 2021-23 and was honored as the Outstanding Sports and Recreation Management major of 2021.
She said she is looking forward to recruiting in Colorado, meeting new students, learning their stories, and helping them find what they want for their future.
“When I was looking for colleges, I wanted to go somewhere small where I would know my professors and the community. I really enjoyed the CSC atmosphere and the community. And now I get to be part of that atmosphere,” she said. “I’m excited to be a part of CSC. Traveling in the midwest always brings its own challenges. With a small admission team and many miles to cover it will bring a busy but exciting season.”
Her hobbies include being outside with her dog, hiking, and paddle boarding. She also enjoys cooking.
Strong is a native of Chadron, who enrolled at CSC seeking a business management degree. He said he has enjoyed the CSC campus.
“Already, my position as a financial aid specialist has proven to be challenging. I will continue to sharpen my skills and I look forward to developing them,” he said. “The biggest challenge will be adapting to yearly financial aid changes. My knowledge is still fresh, so when things begin to adapt for an upcoming aid year I will learn new processes.”
Strong is a car enthusiast and is skilled in vehicle mechanics. He also enjoys fishing and grilling.
