The Alliance Spartan Peltz Co Prep teams lost a pair of close contests Friday to Ogallala and Gering. On Friday Alliance dropped a game first to Ogallala 5 to 4 and then to Gering 6 to 5.
In a four inning affair the Spartans rallied versus Ogallala but came up short. Alliance got 2 runs in the first to grab an early lead. A hit by Cisco Cody was followed by an RBI groundout by Kyler Hamel to give the Peltz Co a one to zero advantage. Smiley Valdovinos then scored on an Ogallala error and a walk. Elai Trejo ended the inning with a single but was stranded. Ogallala responded with a run in the bottom of the inning on a hit and Alliance error.
In the second the Spartans failed to score and Ogallala tied the game on a walk and a single. The key to the contest came in the third with Alliance going scoreless and OG plated 3 runs.
Ogallala used 3 hits plus 2 Alliance errors to surge ahead 5 to 2. A hit by pitch, RBI out, and walk helped the Spartans get within one on their final at bat. The game ended with a fly ball out and Ogallala winning 5 to 4.

A four run seventh inning in the late game by Gering lifted the guests past Alliance 6 to 5 in the night cap. The Peltz Co came out red hot in the opening frame, scoring 3 quick runs. Hits from Tanner Salcido, Israel Garcia, Fletcher Moseman, and Miguel Galvan helped Alliance move ahead by 3. Gering would score 1 in the bottom of the inning but an Alliance double play stopped the rally. In the second, a single by Kegan Nelson was followed by a sacrifice fly by Teegan O’Gorman as the Spartan lead grew to 4 to 1.
Salcido and Garcia had hits in the third but a Gering double play ended the Alliance threat. Gering and Alliance went scoreless in their next at bats. In inning #5 Moseman singled and eventually stole home to increase the Gering deficit to 5 to 1. Batting in the bottom of the sixth, Gering used 2 walks and a miscue by the Peltz Co to score a run. Down 5 to 2 Gering went to work in their at bat.
The visitors used 4 hits and a walk off walk in posting a 6 to 5 come from behind win.
