Panhandle Senior Women’s Golf Competes in Gering

The Panhandle Senior Women’s Golf Association pummeled through the heat and smoky conditions at Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering on Aug. 24. Forty two ladies were up for the challenge and persevered the conditions.

Taking first place with a score of 68/57.98 net and five birdies was Gina Briggs, Penny Yekel and Tami Pierce. Second place with a score of 71/59.53 net was Jill Lenz, Linda Dedic, Julie Eaton and Sue Bringelson. Taking third place with a score of 74/62.44 net was Terry Espinoza, Terry Grosz, Jane Holecheck and Sylvia Debus. Fourth place, with a score of 74/63.57 net was Jane Faber, Londa Maron, Wendy Kostman and Rose Jacoby. Taking fifth place, with a score of 75/63.63 net was Judy Paradeis, Dee Vogel, Pam Adams and Kris De Vries.

Flag prizes were awarded as follows: Longest Drive “A” Player – Terri Luttrell, Longest Drive “B” Player – Londa Maron, Longest Drive “C” Player – Julie Eaton, Longest Drive “D” Player – Charlene Webber. Terry Grosz and Karen Johnson won Longest Putt flags. Jane Faber and Jill Lenz won Closest to the Pin on the Drive flags. Penny Yekel had the Closest Chip Shot from Off the Green. And finally, Vicki Weingart won the flag for Closest to the Water.
