Patricia Ann Howell Obituary

Patricia Ann Howell, 78 of Alliance, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Regional West Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born on April 4, 1945 in Alliance to Paul Joseph and Ruth Katherine (Anderson) Myszkowski. Pat was raised in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School in 1963.  She was an alternate for the University of Nebraska Regents Scholarship. She attended the university for one year before having to return to Alliance.

On May 23, 1965 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Dean Howell and to this union two daughters were born, Joanne Kaye and Lora Loretta. 

In 1982 Pat returned to college at CSC through community education, night classes, and correspondence courses.  She graduated summa cum laude in 1989 with a BS in Accounting. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was confirmed in 1958.  As a member she served as an usher, Elder, and Deacon.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 7, Knight Museum Board and Museum Partners, and the Eagles Auxiliary.  She enjoyed many activities including breakfast with her Methodist friends, crocheting and sewing, Husker and Broncos football, and the Library Book Club. 

Her survivors include her daughter, Lora (Steve) Sullivan of Alliance, her grandchildren, Allison Hoover (Chris George), Columbus; OH; Noah Hoover (Nate Elliot), Amherst, OH; Kathryn (Josh) Martin, Chadron; Sorcha (Josh) Colerick, Scottsbluff; and McKenna Leach, of Alliance, and her great-grandchildren, Cadence and Beckett Martin, Sophia Leach, Hendrix, Eden, and River Colerick.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter, Joanna.

Memorials may be given to the Knight Museum, Alliance Spartans Baseball, Veterans State Cemetery at Alliance Foundation, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

A memorial service will be Friday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sue Spencer officiating. Burial will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery.
